Next Steps

At Crosspoint, we encourage you to continually take ‘next steps’ closer to Jesus. We want to provide you with the resources that can help you take a “Next Step” closer to knowing Christ… but also steps for growing to become more like Him. God tells us in His Word, “You will seek me and find me when you seek for me with all of your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13.
Below are some key ‘next steps’ we encourage you to take in your walk with Jesus. While there is much more to be said about taking next steps, and these don’t capture them all, our purpose here is to introduce you to the need for each one to become a part of your daily living as you grow closer to Jesus.
Jesus: Jesus Christ is the first step on your faith journey. Entering into a relationship with Him enables you to take your next steps with God. Jesus is the way, and the truth and the life. If you have any questions about who Jesus is or how to start a relationship, email Dave (dave@crosspointcc.org) or talk to one of our other leaders. You can also check out this site, which explains how to know God personally.
Baptism: Baptism is a public profession of your faith in Jesus Christ. It’s the next step after your salvation. Although Baptism is commanded to the believer, it is not to be confused with the salvation process itself. We are not saved by being baptized. Baptism is simply the outward sign of the inward change. Just as Jesus was buried in the tomb, and He rose, defeated sin and death so that we could have eternal life, so we make our profession of faith, following the example that He made for us. Email info@crosspointcc.org if you’d like to get baptized at an upcoming Crosspoint service. Click HERE for our Baptism brochure.
Membership: Getting committed as a member at Crosspoint lets you know who we are, what we believe, where we’re going, and how you can be a part of it. At Crosspoint, we offer a 3 week class called, ‘Discover Crosspoint’ which serves as our membership class. Our next class will be held in January 2010. Email info@crosspointcc.org if you want to sign up or know more about this class.
Volunteer: Every single week, our volunteers give their time and skills to serve others. Greeting, setting up, teaching, singing, serving, you name it — you fit in somewhere. 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.” If you’re not involved in serving, email info@crosspointcc.org to connect to a ministry or talk to any one of our leaders. It is time to get in the game! Click HERE to check out the various ministries to get involved in.
Community: The Christian life involves more than just believing – it also includes belonging. We grow in Jesus by being in relationship to other believers. That is called “Community.” Doing life together in community with other believers is important to healthy growth (Hebrews 10:23-25). One of the most important ways to get connected at Crosspoint is through Small Groups. If you would like help in finding a Small Group, just email us (info@crosspointcc.org) and we’ll connect you to a group leader.
Care: You’re not alone when you’re facing hard times. Our staff and elders would love the opportunity to be praying for and encouraging you according to God’s Word. Email Dave (dave@crosspointcc.org) or contact the office to share a need that you’re facing.
