In the fall of 2000, God began to plant in the hearts of Dave and Heather Steinbeck, His calling and His vision to reach people with the life-transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ. This calling was not to “go”, but to “stay” in their own hometown of Eureka and plant a new church that would impact the communities and the world around it.  At the time, Dave and Heather were regularly involved in ministry at New Life Christian Church in Morton.  As they began sharing with the leadership of New Life about their hearts and the vision God had given them for this new church, New Life adopted them as their ‘daughter’ church and began assisting them in the planting of this new Church.

In the spring and summer of 2001, three other families joined Dave & Heather. Together they began meeting as a Small Group to pray and dream about what God’s heart was for this new church.  In the fall of 2002, God began gathering more people from New Life and the Eureka area, who wanted to follow after the vision that God had given to Crosspoint.  At that same time, God was calling Jeff and Angie Hegstrom to leave their ministry at New Life and join the Crosspoint Team in Eureka to serve as Crosspoint’s first pastor.

In January of 2003, Crosspoint launched its Small Group ministry and began monthly pre-view services in the Middle School library and invited the community to discover God in a fresh new way.  Finally, on August 24th 2003, Crosspoint began holding weekly Sunday morning services in the Lakeview Shopping Center. And after 2 ½ years, Crosspoint outgrew the storefront facilities and moved their Sunday morning service to the Middle School to allow for more growth as they pursued the vision that God had given them.

In the spring of 2009, God called Jeff and Angie to become missionaries on the Gulf Coast and be sent out from the Crosspoint family.  Through that transition, Dave Steinbeck became the new Lead Pastor of Crosspoint.

The story of Crosspoint is God’s story… and His story has just begun.  At Crosspoint, we believe God has called us to “Build 3D Relationships that are Devoted to Jesus, Dedicated to One Another, and Driven to Reach People.  We believe that God has great things in store for us as we pursue Him through prayer, walk in obedience through faith, and live out before God a surrendered and willing heart.  Let’s join Him in His Story and continue together as His Church to become all that He has called us to be!
